Project-Downtown Reform
Problem Statement -We were present with the challenge of discovering why downtown dying even with all event happen there?
Goal-Have prototype of app/website that you present to client aka Richmond to Excel Center.
Within our group, we had to research our area along with interview from the area getting a better grasp on condition on the area. I was able to interview local business owners how not only worked there but own one oldest business in that area Phillip Drug Store. With that along with some connections with the post office, I had prior to the project. I discover what one of the major issues was parking in the area. Even with parking garage people still either avoid due stigma or didn’t know of its existence. By limited parking to avoid the area along with the construction going on at the time. With that I decided would decide to build an app design track location along with parking near the area.

This was the original wireframe with the early draft of twitter feed and map layout. After that, we separated so each of the work on our own projects. First, I spent several hours trying if any mapping app had this feature already. Surprising none existed that I could discover. With that in mind, I began to create a wireframe showing four pages home, search, error, map, and directions. I even decide to include a part of screen tract post on Twitter that uses #RichmondParking that way people could post an update or info user that keeps them informed even if they’re on the road.
Concept wireframe I built in illustrator showing the home page, search page, map page, and back option. The home age was removed to focus on how the would flow from each thing after you get on the app. After presenting it I began to work on a more refined version original after which I present with my group. After a few days, I chose the locations to show the concept of Joe Pizza, Model T Museum, and Smile Pub. Using Google I got map and direction to and used XD to build a working prototype. After this, we present these to the class that discovered a few flaws with my current design. On need include use map of Richmond to find a location option and Joe’s Pizza had closed two years ago and Cordial Cork was what took its place.
This version I had started to use XD to build the app to see what it could really do. I even add a small circle icon showing where parking was and location each having a letter side indicating which was which. Creating a link to time mapping them and testing them. I sent multiple links search bar took search page, hitting search with nothing in it send you an error page, back arrow took back a page, the home took the user back to home, and blue arrow leads the user directly to their detestation. Fixing the location error was easy but a map of the parking of Richmond was difficult; since no map I found had been out of date. I decide only to use map Richmond for it and inform the user of what was supposed to do. Before we presented the idea to the excel center we did heuristic analysis on the app current state. I discovered I had some grammar issues that needed to be resolved. Other than that I discovered no one complains that during a ring the event they all loved it. The map I build a new page user could find mark where they want to go, but the due limit of program and image I used I could make a map of Richmond page intractable. To reach I had set up you hit the star above Richmond to get there. The update to the Indiana icon made it pop. I was an able four-page decade to other options listed on the search page.
